FILIGREE BROOCH “BLOSSOM”

Material: Silver 925, steel pin backing

I made this brooch using the traditional Estonian filigree technique. This technique uses fine silver wire of varying thicknesses, which is twisted and then rolled flat. The prepared wire is used to fill the shapes in the jewellery and to construct the frames.

Filigree is delicate work that requires time and patience. This piece is inspired by traditional Estonian ornamentation.
